Jamaica's quiet
side Vancouver, Canada -
The Province • Take a
break!
Excerpt
In Alligator Pond, an
end-of-the-road town populated by fishermen and
farmers, Evrol Christian ponders the
future.
The owner of Little
Ochie, one of the best of the few restaurants on
the south shore, caters to a mostly local
clientele, who select fresh snapper, lobster and
crabs straight from the ice chest to be cooked
to order.
The Jukebox blasts
an eclectic mix from Connie Francis to Toots and
the Maytals through giant outdoor speakers as
patrons kick off their shoes, sit back and watch
the fishermen unload the day's catch.
'The south coast
doesn't need big hotels', Christian Says. 'It'll
change the whole
character'. |
